Tasting Notes:

Twinwoods Estate Margaret River Shiraz is bright, red with good density, with some purple and youthful edges. Pepper and spice characters dominate the aromatics, with ripe olive tomes and plum and cherry characters completing the profile of the wine. The palate is well balanced with fine tannins and a ripe structure with good acidity. The palate continues rich and long with ripe flavour profile.

Technical:

The mild climate of Margaret River produces Shiraz, or what could be more correctly termed, Syrah wine styles which are of more elegant nature and less ripe style than the Shiraz for which Australia has become noted.

Accolades & Awards:

94 Point Rated  - Ken Gargett Wine Pilot
"Nice opportunity to compare consecutive vintages here. Personally, this is the pick of the pair for me but no doubt, others may feel differently. There are similar earth and clove notes to the 2017, along with black olives. Then we see notes of cassis, mulberries, blackberries, aniseed and cherries. Also near black in colour. There is oak evident here, but it is well handled. The palate sees more chocolate and mocha notes to the fore. A wine with good focus and good length, it is nicely balanced, and certainly impresses. Enjoy this for at least the next ten to twelve years."

93 Point Rated & 5 Star Rated Sam Kim Wine Orbit
"It's sweetly ripe and fragrant on the nose, showing dark berry, cedar, thyme and warm spice notes, leading to a beautifully rounded palate displaying juicy fruit intensity with silky texture and layers of polished tannins. Harmonious and supple, offering excellent drinking. At its best: now to 2033."
